Mission

Humanist Canada was looking to expand its reach to a younger target audience and increase its presence across various social channels. The Humanist ideals of secular community building are prevalent within this target audience but brand recognition was low in these circles.

I worked at Humanist Canada from June to December 2020 as their Social Media Coordinator. My main responsibilities included establishing a consistent voice across their social channels and beginning to build their Instagram from zero (it was launched in May 2020). Throughout my six months working there, I implemented a regular posting schedule, put organic content marketing on the map for internal stakeholders and built several categories of sustainable storytelling for social.

Strategy

Humanist Canada is an organization that has been helping Canadians uphold the traditions they want to uphold in the manner that they wish to do so for over 50 years. During a time where more connection is established from a screen than in person, it is imperative that Humanist Canada maintain digital media platforms to reach audiences where they currently reside: on social media.

By combining the strengths of a solid website, social channels and email marketing, Humanist Canada can establish a strong brand voice that is resonant and easy to understand. This will allow new and established Humanists alike to learn about and connect with the brand. These platforms will work in tandem to create the clearest picture of what Humanist Canada stands for as a brand.
